We have been working closely with Hob Moor Oaks since January 2019. Our joint vision is to create seamless transitions for our young people through their academic journey. Staff have opportunities to collaborate and learn from each other, whilst both schools share resources and skills in key areas.

Our key aims from our collaboration are to ensure excellent transitions from Primary to Secondary, to share knowledge and give every young person with SEND who come to us the very best.

The relationship Applefields and Manor CE Academy have is well established. One class of Key Stage 3 students and one of Key Stage 4 students are based in the school and offered opportunities to integrate with their mainstream peers at an appropriate level, where appropriate and available.

In September 2019, Millthorpe welcomed an initial class of students on a similar model to that at Manor CE Academy. The provision is now well established with a class of Key Stage 3 students and a class of Key Stage 4 students. Students have a class base for the majority of learning and are offered opportunities to integrate with their mainstream peers through lunchtimes and, where appropriate and available, certain lessons supported by Applefields staff.
